About
anartisttravels is an online platform dedicated to
edifying, encouraging and uplifting creatives in the various stages of their careers.

This platform exists to extinguish the myth of the 'starving artist' by providing creatives with the tools and resources needed to build successful creative careers on their own terms.

'Give a man (or woman) a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach him how to fish and you feed him for a lifetime'.

You may have heard this quote before - the idea is that long-lasting change comes from education. And that's why the approach at anartisttravels not only gives you resources (services where you can work directly with a professional to improve your craft) but also educational tools which mean you can learn, grow and improve by yourself also.

Let's extinguish the myth of the starving artist together

So, a bit about me. Yes, it's time for the self-promo part! I hope this gives you a clearer idea as to who I am and whether you'd like to work together!

My name is Nicole Acquah & I'm an actress, a writer and an educator.

Last year I quit my part-time job to pursue these artistic paths fully and I'm happy to say that I work in this way - performing, writing, teaching - full-time!

I set up anartisttravels to extinguish the myth of the starving artist, by providing young creatives with the holistic tools and edification needed to point them towards a successful career.
Essentially I want people to feel in control of their creative ideas, learn how to get that work in front of people and MAKE THAT COIN too.

I don't believe artists should resign themselves to a life of financial struggle just because they have decided to pursue their passion. Think about it: we're innovators! We make content that brings people joy. We are valuable and we bring value. It is up to us to nurture our creativity -- and that requires time, space, collaboration, reflection, hard work and support.

I'm super passionate about understanding the role business plays in our lives as artists (uhm...it's a big one!) and using that knowledge wisely in order to create successful lives.

I studied BA Drama and Creative Writing at Royal Holloway and went on to study at the MA Advanced Theatre Practice at Royal Central School of Speech and Drama.

I have since been invited back to both institutions. I am a visiting artist at the Royal Central School of Speech and Drama, where I've worked on MA courses ever since graduated.

In 2020, I taught Playwriting at Royal Holloway as a visiting tutor.

I bring that knowledge of seminar structure, feedback and pedagogical insight to the courses I run at anartisttravels.

You can find some of my writing published on WhatsonStage and Exeunt. From plays to reviews to thought pieces, my writing is varied and I love writing in a myriad of different forms. All of this combines to give me a unique slant into exploring nuance within storytelling, from both a written and performative standpoint.

I love helping people to tell the stories inside of them. It truly brings a smile to my face.
